Royal Light Festival Apeldoorn

Aftermovie for the Royal Light Festival

This project was a collaborative video made with two classmates.

We were selected by our teacher to contribute, providing a unique opportunity to work on a professional project outside school hours.

Every stage of production challenged me to grow both technically and creatively.

During filming, I learned the importance of capturing strong B-roll. With only one evening to shoot, every moment counted. We faced challenging low-light conditions and I had to step out of my comfort zone to capture spontaneous street footage, which gave me confidence and valuable hands-on experience.

In editing, I focused on storytelling rather than simply arranging clips. I worked on creating a logical flow and evoking emotion, making the final video more engaging and impactful.

I also applied creative techniques using After Effects, including dynamic title sequences and an animated intro logo. This allowed me to expand my skills in motion graphics and enhance the overall visual appeal of the video.

Overall, I am very proud of the final result. The project showcases my technical skills, creativity, and storytelling abilities, and it has motivated me to continue developing as a filmmaker.
