I’m Thijmen Knip, an 18-year-old filmmaker currently in my second year of studying AV-specialist. I’m deeply passionate about storytelling through visuals, capturing emotions, atmosphere, and meaning in every frame. My goal is to keep developing my craft, experiment with different styles, and bring unique ideas to life through film.

THE CRAFT
STORY CONCEPT
The creative foundation of every project. This is where ideas take shape, exploring tone, message, and emotion before the first frame is shot. I focus on how visuals can best serve the story, experimenting with moodboards, scripts, and visual references to set the direction.
FILM PRODUCTION
Where vision becomes reality. I work with light, framing, and atmosphere to translate concept into visual storytelling. Every shot is carefully planned, yet flexible enough to capture authentic moments and emotion on set.
POST PRODUCTION
The final stage where everything connects sound, color, rhythm, and story. In editing, I refine emotion, enhance visuals, and use sound design to immerse the viewer. It’s where raw footage becomes a complete cinematic experience.

When am I available for an internship?
I am available for a six-month internship starting in July 2026.
Which skills do I have?
I have broad knowledge and experience in all phases of video production: Pre-production: planning, budgeting, scriptwriting, creating shot lists, storytelling, call sheets, casting, directing crew, location scouting, concept development, and storyboarding. Production: comprehensive knowledge of camera techniques (lenses, sensors, file formats), framing and shot composition, sound recording, applying three-point lighting, set management, directing actors, creative problem-solving, and maintaining timing and rhythm. Multi-camera setups: managing livestreams using OBS and Blackmagic, directing camera, sound, and lighting, and working with DMX, SDI, XLR, and other equipment. Post-production: experience with Premiere Pro and After Effects, with basic knowledge of DaVinci Resolve and Blender.
What kind of projects do I enjoy the most?
Creative projects where I’m involved from start to finish appeal to me the most. I especially enjoy fiction and cinematography. I love telling stories through visuals and sound, bringing emotion and atmosphere to life. Experimenting with new techniques and developing my own style is important to me. Projects where I can combine technical knowledge with creativity excite me the most.
How do I handle deadlines and pressure?
I always work ahead, waiting until the last minute is not for me. Deadlines are sacred to me; I plan carefully to ensure I finish well in time. I perform well under pressure; it’s then that I stay focused and decisive. I prefer submitting polished work early rather than something half-done at the last moment. My structured approach leaves room for feedback and improvements.
What makes me different from the rest?
I dive deep into the technical side: from how a sensor works to the workings of color profiles. I want to know everything, not just how to do something, but why. I take projects seriously and am often the first to get things done. Film is not a hobby for me; it’s my future. Where others stop, I keep going. I strive to get the most out of myself and the project. I combine a creative vision with technical obsession, and it shows in my work.
